I had a new friend over today and since we were out looking at the stuff in the barn I had him hand rank my Case LA. I showed him how to do it then let pull the crank. Now this guy is twice my size big arms on that kid but not much muscle. he almost killed himself trying to pull it over the top. Too much compression to just pull it straight up so I rock it over the top. OK so that ain't the right way but at about 9 to 1 and 403 CID you do what you can.
We cranked her a few time and she came to life. I really like the sound of that old tractor.

I got a wrist broke, that way, on a stalled out F-20. The worst part, was having the old man chew me out, about not setting the spark right, and not giving it only 1/4 turn, at a time, like he had told me, and all the time I am standing, holding my hand, hurting like the devil, in the hot Ill. sun, in the field I had been disking. Dad was a very sympathetic guy.I dont know what the marines did to him, but they sure made him mean.
