Hi Ol' Bud,

The precleaner for this thing should be here tomorrow and then I can pull it back out to the farm.

Machine itself is totally gutted, but under 14" of snow. Colder than Billy He!! to.

Slow going. :>(

well it's not like you're in a hurry to go combine with it or anything. we got like 6-9 inches of the white stuff here which makes some things interesting but it's not too bad. i'll take the snow but i just don't like teh cold. where did you find that pre-cleaner?i have one like that on my Allis WD-45 but i don't remember where i got it.
well good luck

Those ones come in more sizes than that! Our 1855 has that same one made by Donaldson and it's got something like a 3" intake. Our 1755 out back I think has a 2" on it. Lots of different sizes, but as long as he has the right size intake pipe, it'll fit no problem.

Oh Yeah,

This one is a 3" also. Think they make 'em all the way from 1" up to maybe 7" sizes?

Dunno, I just measured the intake horn and looked for one that should fit.

Vinegar, SOS pads, automotive cleaner wax and lots and lots of elbow grease.

Goofy thing had a tiny little "rattle noise" to it that just wasn't a "Gleaner sound" that I had ever heard or was familiar with.

Finally ended up drilling out and replacing all those darned pop rivets. Guess they had just worked loose a bit since 1977. :>)

Temps in the single digits out there. I doubt he's spending any more time outside than necessary.
