Farmer Boy
Tractorsmart.com has the chart you need. Look under INFO and then Tractor tire liquid ballasting. Peavy

While we're on this subject what is the capacity of tires. 16.9x28, 16.9x30, 18.4x30, and 20.8x38 to be specific. Gallons. Either full or 75%. Can't seem to find it on google but maybe I didn't type the right thing in. Thanks.

Farmerboy,
Here it is straight from a table published by SAE.

16.9-28 69 gal 575 #
19.9-30 73 gal 609 #
18.4-30 89 gal 742 #
20.8-38 140 gal 1168 #

The weights are for water only
the 20.8s loaded with 5# CaCl per gal will weigh over 1500#

Hope this helps
Leonard

I forgot to tell you that the tractor was jacked up so the tire had no weight on it. Thanks.

Old, Are your numbers listed for the gallons considered 100% filled? because my 11.2x28's only hold 22-23 gallons with valve stem at 12 o'clock and tire standing straight up.

Don't know for sure. I got that info from an NAA owner manual so the only thing I can say is that if what I posted is wrong then Ford printed there manaul wrong.

Well if what I posted is wrong then the owners manual for both the NAA and 601/801 tractors are wrong so take it up with ford

GEEZE guys it was a joke.
Wooden barrels are hard to find these days that are not sawed in half.
Your picture really dates itself. Walt

Yes it does plus its a little on the yellow side from age. Its of course not a reprint but one that came with my 1935 JD-B when it was new. I keep it in a plastic bag because its getting to the point that the pages rip very easy and I want to keep it as good as I can
