Man, what a great day! Phone visits from the family that did not make it home, and one son and family here for the day. Spent the whole day playing with my 4 year old grandson and 6 month old granddaughter. She is just doing the belly scoot but sure gets around. Grandma gave Jack a bag of marbles and all else was forgotton. I tied a string and made a circle. He got pretty good by time to go home. Hope all of you enjoyed the day as much as we did. Happy New Year to everyone and Thanks to Kim!

Dinner at oldest son's on Christmas eve, Dinner and presents at #2 sons on Christmas night. Highlight for me was my two sons and I singing Christmas carols, 3 part harmony, acapella. We're all old Barbershoppers, so not much of a "learning curve". Daughter usually sings the 4th part, but she's travelling in South America. My daughter-in-law's roast and vegetables was so good that I didn't leave room for pie- grandkids had a quick pow-wow to assess whether I was OK.

All the kids and grandkids were here Christmas eve. It was great,as usual. The wife had to go see a couple of patients Christmas morning. The boys girlfriends have younger siblings,so they went there early. I took my time doing chores, made breakfast. Everybody was back by 10:30. Spent a pretty laid back day. Had a little surprise from nature. Had a new Angus heifer calf born way out of sync. Weather has warmed up a little,so she's doing fine.

Bob, We did similar, 2 of the 3 kids made it home (despite flight delays n ending up on Amtrak the last 8 hrs) while the third wasnt driving the distance as his wife is expecting a kid bout any day now so we called them.

Listen to the Statler Brothers Song "The greatest Christmas present is something money cant buy" it will tear your heart out, talks about how having the family at home is all that really matters. If you want a copy and are computer savvy download it off Limewire etc or go buy the CD or e mail me for a CD of my fave Christmas collection jmn50@msn.com

I have not played marbles in years. Use to play them a recess at school even. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. But was fun with many good memories to be had. Did have one of my best Christmas's ever the wife and I.
