I am thinking of getting a snowblower to put on my 4440 deere. Any suggestions? are some brands better than others? used or new? Where can i find new ones, used ones? Located in southwestern Ohio. Thanks, Mike

Pronovost, Normand and Lucknow are the three I'd be most comfortable with and in that order.
The first two are semi-commercial to commercial blowers. I wouldn't expect so much of Lucknow but they seem well designed and work well.
I'd stay clear of the old Allied's. I don't know if they've changed over the years or not but we have an old one here that's about worthless. Watch out for blowers that have small spouts. You also want something with an agressive blower fan...
Basically, look at a Pronovost blower and it's features and find one like it.

If you're putting it on a 4440,you want a big one.It needs to be at least the width of your tractor so it doesn't geet stuck in really big banks. You will want hydraulic shoot so you can turn it from the cab.You can even get them than open the side of the blower with a cylinder that throws the snow over 45 feet away.A new Cadilac version will cost you around 10 grand for a Normand built one, nice used one about half that, a fix-er-up-er,around 1500.

I have several driveways, cattle feedlot. If i get one, i may not use it every year, but when i need it, it would be nice to have. The way our barnyard is setup, we can get some pretty big drifts, 6 or 8 feet high. Not much fun with a blade and loader bucket. Im in Butler County.

This Kubota 5740 and 72" blower moves a lot of snow. The bucket controls work the chute direction and raise or lower of the blower. You will like the front mount and 1000 PTO much better.

There are usually several listed on ebay. Did you look at the for sale listings on this site?

Whatever you do, get a two-stage blower. I got a one-stage, thought I just really needed a blower. Turns out you just about never can have enough power for it. I don't like its performance. Mine's a lundell, 7 or 8 feet wide.

You get enough snow down there for a blower? I'm in N. Central Oh. and I don't think I could justify one that big up here. I have a 26" walk behind and that's plenty up here. How much do you have to clear?

Where at in SW Ohio? There is a LOT of Agricultural Equipment Dealers in the SW Ohio area, about any of them will be happy to sell you a new Snowblower, a few come to mind, Mayer, at the junction of I-71 and Us. Rt. 68, The Equipment Superstore, in Georgetown Ohio, 5 Points John Deere, in Hillsboro Ohio, and on and on.
