Lets see how many different big screen movies that had at least a shot of a tractor in the movie. Also if you think we should go out and rent the movie kind of fill us in on how much tractor stuff was actually in the movie.

I may get the titles wrong, but here goes.
A Perfect World with Kevin Costner. A 3010 JD with a front mount cultivator and early 60's Chevy pickup.
Humpfrey Bogart in a movie about wheat harvest in the 40's, Massey Clippers and old trucks.
Helfighters with John Wayne, Cats used fighting Oil well fires.
Movie about AlCan highway, IH dozers clearing road bed. Did someone already mention Field of Dreams?
Old Lassie tv show had a Case( 300 ? ) tractor in it.
Ode to Billy Joe, Farmall M with a rear mounted cultivator on it.
That's all I can think of right now, sure there are more. Chris

Grumpy Old Men had either a Farmall A or Super A that pulled the ice fishing shack.
I have a Gene Autry movie that has Farmall F 12's and F 20's only they had the Farmall blacked out and replaced it with Mamoth.

Old barn dance with Gene Autry. The old barn dance sponsor was a company called "Mammoth Tractor". The tractors were F12's and F20's. There were some Mammoth crawlers in the movie but not sure what they were before they put the Mammoth name on'em. The tractor company was just a front for a dozen or so owl hoots and a couple of sidewinders. But in the end Gene and Smiley Burnette put it on'em good.

"The Fighting Seabees",With John Wayne, old IH dozer in the scene where he dies.
TV series "Dallas" a 706 LP w/side mount cultivators!
"Grapes of Wrath" another dozer that crushes the house.
Saw an old Audie Murphy movie the other day where they had to spray Loco-weed or something like that...a AC B. & a WC. Later,

Superman Returns had a John Deere sitting next to the barn. (720 I think)

I remember seeing a movie called "The Iron Maiden" a few years back. It had Alan Hale (Skipper from Gilligan's Island) in it, and it was about a race with steam traction engines. I think the movie was set in England.

The original "Of Mice and Men", based on the John Steinbeck novel. Has a threshing scene in it (I think you can make out the lettering of McCormick Deering) There's a John Deere tractor pulling a piece of machinery during the opening credits of "The Dukes of Hazard". Passenger 57 you can see at least one Massey Ferguson Tractor during the fair/carnival sequence.

Miles from Home, starring Richard Gere, JD tractor and combines

TV series Smallville, Massey 165 w/loader and Ford 6600

BBC documentary Yellow Trail from Texas, lots of MF 750 and 760 combines, soon to be available on DVD

The one James Bond movie with Sean Connery, can't think of which one it is at the moment. Has a shot in it of a tractor when they are destroying the hidden base inside the volcano.

Mars Attacks has some shots in it. Shows a dead guy on I believe a Super A drive past in one of the scenes.

Can't think of any others that weren't allready mentioned at the moment.

If I remember correctly, Forrest Gump had a Farmall H or M very briefly. Otherwise very few tractors in the movie. I think it was the scene where he's really young, at the bus stop with his mom. I could be wrong though.

I've got to second the movie mentioned here by DLPLOST. Earthworm Tractor with Joe E. Brown is one of the few where tractors are the focus of the entire movie - and - it was partly sponsored by Caterpillar. I read the book also, a great story that deals with early and "old fashioned" tractor collecting and selling.

There was "Country" back in the 80's where Jessica Lange was combining when a tornado came through and spun the combine around a couple times and turned over the grain truck with her son in the back. All the farmers were being forclosed on and one hung himself, etc. A real upbeat movie.

Amber waves was in the 80's with dennis weaver running a harvest crew from Texas north with massey's cutting wheat had a young Kurt Russel in it. Saw combines and grain trucks. It did a pretty good job of showing the wheat harvest on the plains. There was of course other trageties along the way. I think Giant with rock hudson had a tractor to run the drill for the oil rig.

Lee Marvin in Prime Cut.

Sidney Poitier in Lilies of the Field comes to mind.

Then there's the old one where the Indian war hero runs for office and spends the night noisily repairing someone's tractor. Don't remember its name or the tractor's brand.

The best use of a tractor on the large or small screen, though, has to be in the video Crazy by Aerosmith. Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyler utterly befuddle a young farmer, who abandons his still-running tractor to join them in the local swimming hole. The tractor and spring- tooth cut a merry swath around a large field.

"Walk The Line" had an Oliver Super 77/88 that tumbles upside down.

Steven King's "The Stand" had a breif shot of a dead guy on what I think may be a Ferguson 35.

"Scary Movie III" had a couple scenes with a Massey Ferguson (with doctored sheet metal).

Thats all I can think of right now...

I will start the thread with DAYS OF HEAVEN. I believe it was made in the 70's maybe early 80's. Had several shots of steam engines, I think even threashing, and a Aultman Taylor 30-60. The movie is pretty strange but it does have Tractors!

A couple real MANLY movies, FOOTLOOSE and The BRIDGES of MADISON COUNTY (w/Clint Eastwood and a 4020 Deere)

I THINK the name was A LONG WAY HOME or A LONG WAY TO HOME. Starred Gary Sinise (CSI Miami) He and his brother had their family farm forclosed on, Sinise kills the banker and they go on the road working on a harvest brigade at one point. Several combine scenes.

I WALK THE LINE. Johnny Cash stort. Old Oliver

The Quiet Man With John Wayne had a thrashing scene.

The Green Mile had a Fordson running the generator for the electric chair.

The Color Purple had a McCormick Deering 15-30 in the opening.

Coming first of 2008 there will be a movie "Leatherheads". There will be an Unstyled A in one scene.
