There's a Gleaner Model E in the photo ads. Looks good. 800 bucks.

Well, there ya go.

You better snatch that little guy up. Must run okay too; still has chaff under the floor board.

Heck, a guy could almost haul that feller on a U-haul trailer. :>)

Yeah But,

Those machines just don't seem to have the "experience" (read: wore out) that I need.

What I mean is, when ya find one that needs the silly ladder rebuilt, ya know it's been across an acre or two. :>)

By the way, anyone have a good, servicable feeder beater fer a F/F2? Got two of the old rascals layin' here and don't think I can even scrounge a decent one between the two. :>)

I have one or two, but I imagine salvage yards closer to you should have them too. What"s wrong with yours? Mine had dents in, courtesy of rocks. Ground the weld off the end cap to remove it, went in with a hyd jack and pressed everything straight, welded the cap back on. Good time to go with the cast finger guides like the C/S machines have. Spendy part was replacing the poly sleeves that the finger assemblies turn on. I think they were about $140 10-15 years ago.

It would seem that they all have the same worn out parts. Can't even rebuild with a new gudgeon and hub? That Kit- Combine has to be warming up you cheek with all the friction of slipping that old wallet in and out. You don't know yet how good the hydraulics and belt drive stuff is until it fires and starts to pull itself.

So far it has been relatively painless and is coming in quite a bit cheaper than I thought.

There is always the unknown factor looming about, however. :>(

Got an awfully lot of stuff (including a 2nd complete hydraulic system) along with that motor and am certainly thankful for that.

The two new walker cranks kind of made my ears ring just a little tho. They don't give those things away. :>(

Now, if I can just squeeze by that darned hydro..... ....Sure as heck can't quit now. :>)
