I did use inner tube rubber at both mounts/bands but other then that I didn't. Found its not all that much fun to put a tank back on a 1980 Chev pick up. But at least its on and has a little over !/2 a tank in it right now. I took a 40 gal. tank in with the other day and put about 15 gals. in it so I could then put gas in the new tank when I got it on. Funny how I ran it out yesterday when I was working on another problem so the truck timed it just right for switching out the old tank for the new one

Glad you got it on, they are a major pain! Are you geting any ice yet? We are 30 miles west of Rock Island, Ill. and they are calling for 1/2 to 3/4 inch of ice tonite after midnight. Went back to town after work and got 10 gal of fresh gas for genny just in case power goes out. Hope you guys don't get hit too bad. Chris

We have ice on the trees and did have ice on the ground earlier today but it got warm enough to melt it off the ground. There calling for more ice tonight and all the way into Wednesday. Thats one reason I wanted to get the tank on my truck. Its the only 4 wheel drive thing we have so some times its nice to have it when the weather gets like this. Sort of was hard to depend on when if you put 5 gals. of gas in you never knew if it would still be there 2 days late. So at least thats not a problem any more

Was watching weather tonight, looked like it was getting on to you already, heading up to our neck of the woods next. Hope it stays as rain, but they saying we will get another 1/4" or so. most of roads are clear, but trees n power lines still have ice on 'em. Got about 70 gallon of gas ready just in case. Be careful, hope you have better luck than last year.
