I have an old IH 315 that is pretty much shot except for the engine. I have a 560 with a bad engine. Where do I even start when taking the motor out of the combine? What should I look out for? Any tips?

I was looking thru the photo ad section here at YT and found a complete running 263 out of a 560 complete from oil pan to carb for like 500$ located in South Whitley, Indiana. May have sold it, may not, they said it ran great when pulled. I took a 403 combine engine out a few years back,,, the belt drive was the SOB,,, had to remove all that bellhousing drive, just to lighten it up enough to lift it off the rear of the combine with a backhoe boom. 4 bolts, 2 in front 2 in the rear, fuel lines, electrical, hyd pump and lines, take the fan off, You can get ahold of it with a chain on the back of the block, (once the bellhousing is off) youll see 2 sets of 1/2 holes, you can put a bolt thru a chain, and then hook it somewhere up front, maybe where the hyd pump mounted on,,,, SHOULD already have the good carb/intake and distributor though,,,,, Hope ths helps,,, dont know if that engine is still in the classifieds (photo ads) if it is, would be well worth it, JMHO, Chad
