Dalyburger #1 for me in Mich. Steak and Shake is good too. Used to favor Arby's till about 100 people told me Arby's roast beef sandwiches have absolutely NO beef in them. Oughta be against the law!

I'm originally from the Los Angeles area.

That's partly where I was raised and my favorite burger would be a Tommy's burger from the original Tommy's burger shack on the north east corner of Beverly Blvd & Rampart Blvd in Los Angeles California.

IN N OUT would be a close 2nd choice to me.

I know its not a burger but the best sandwich has got to be Big Johns Steak and Onion right in a few locations in Michigan. Flint,Lansing,Owosso, and Clio. They are just perfect. Everybody I know just raves about them.

Halo Burger! A small chain in the I-75 corridor between Fenton and Flint. Best one is at the Frankenmuth exit...but you have to pass on the chicken then.

Can I only choose one?

I suppose you set the rules, so I'll follow them to the best of my ability...
Big, thick and smothered in fresh blue cheese. If done right with enough blue cheese, I'll have to use 2-3 napkins in the process of eating it.
On the other end of the scale... I recall while a student at the U of M, going to White Castle at 3AM. At the time (3AM with a belly full of beer) those seemed like the best food on earth.

At least 1/4 lb grain feed ground beef covered and cooked nice and easy in cream of mushroom. Top it off with slightly melted swiss cheese, spicy brown mustard and sliced onion. Then add a side of some seasoned frys covered lightly with the cream of mushroom. Oh it's good!!!!!

No disrespect but a veggie/soy burger copared to a 100% US beef burger is like comparing Hickory smoked real bacon to the little "beggin'strips" the wife gives her dog for treats, but to each his own. Lanse if you are ever up in central MN look me up and I'll treat you to a 100% angus burger or a nice tender melt in yer mouth T-done. All raised by loving owners for food. You do not know what your missing.

I have no doubt a beef burger is VERY tasty, however there are reasons for not eating meat.

I'm with Lance. A veggie burger, properly seasoned, can taste very good.

You guys are making me hungry. I'm just as much of a purist as the rest of you when it comes to burgers - 100 percent meat is the best. However, I do grow soybeans, so why should I care if it's all meat or part soy? Would soy give it more protein?

A little worschester and Chef's Secret spice on the pure beef burger while it's smoking away on the grill shure does make for good eating. Makes my mouth water just thinking of it. Jim

That's not fair. Now I find myself craving a burger, and lunch was over 2 hours ago. I'll take exactly what you're having minus the stove top, make it a 1/4 pound, on a good and heavy wheat bun. Oh, and add tomatoes, freshly sliced from the garden, please. Lettuce if you have it. Ice tea and potato salad to go with.
