Hope you reported it to authorities with serial number and best description sooner the better. Trucks can get to the Mexico border faster than you think and hide like you wouldn't believe. Some got caught near here years ago burying trucks, tractors and other things after parts had been taken off. Others have been recovered back from Mexico before too but were not the same when got back.

Don't give up hope of finding it. Years ago I got a flat tire on a hay wagon with a full load of hay, left it on the side of the road and went back to get a tire and the whole wagon was gone. Took a year to find it, got tipped off by some one, the crook took a big loader and pulled it in to a near by gravel pit were he worked and had hid it there. I called the cops I made the report with, he was convicted, and also the gravel pit fired him so I got some satisfaction, or course never got the hay back.

It 'might' help if you could post a partial serial number if you have it, leave the last 3 or 4 numbers off if desired. Good Luck!

I am not positive, but I think John Deere will report the serial number to their dealer network. If the "new owners" would happen into a dealer to get parts, they may get tripped up!

Sad to say, but it is rare that stolen tractors are ever found. There needs to be some kind of network to report & track serial numbers of stolen tractors & other equipment.

There are GPS tracking systems that could be put on a tractor. You'd have to find a good place to hide the sensor but it would work. Several months ago a guys $100,000 welding truck was stolen. He had the tracking system on it. The GPS led the cops right to a farm yard. He lost a couple thousand dollars of small tools but got the truck and welder back. He could have been out a lot more. I think they are using the same type of system on heavy equipment because it is getting stolen more often. I hope he finds the tractor. If it was stolen from a dealer, the dealer should have insurance to cover it. Dave

I hope you find it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I had one stolen in 98 and another in 2005. Never heard a word yet on either.

They had that problem in Se PA about 30 years ago
A man and his son were involved in that. There was a movie made for TV. I don't know how many tractors were stolen before they caught them. Hal

John,

I hope that you have insurance on that tractor and filed a police report, maybe they`ll get lucky and find it somewhere.

How did they get it, rollback? We lost one over on rt 69 20 years ago. You could clearly see where someone drove in with a rollback through the field and somehow the neighbors never saw anything. We eventually got a lead on it through a friend of a friend through the wife of the thief when she caught him running around or something that had her teed off, hmmm...

Might want to post your notice in the grocery stores and local watering holes. Put REWARD in really big letters, that`ll get the lasses attention. Good luck.
