I'm having a friend replace the injectors in my Dodge cummins. He needs some numbers from my engine but I've dicovered the data plate has come off for some reason. How do I find out the info as to the engine serial #, the dealer I called was no help. My Dodge was delivered in Oct. of '94, it was a 2500 club cab 4x4, one of the first of that body style made.

All you've got to do is get the numbers off one injector nozzle itself - you don't need the engine info. That can eliminate some confusion.

Generally speaking, there are two different injectors for that year - one for automatic trans R4761596 and one for five-speed-manual trans R4761595.

If you don't want the down-time of pulling injectors, getting numbers, and waiting for nozzles - just call a place like Oregon Fuel Injection. They will send you the complete injectors with new nozzles installed and ready to go into your engine - and you then send back your old ones. Cost around $50-$60 each. Phone # is 800-452-5055

I usually do them myself, and new nozzles cost anywhere from $5 each to $20 each.
