We are restoring an Allis Chalmers what we think is a "B" The serial number tag has the letter "C" before the numbers. This tractor hast he wide front on it. From the pictures I have looked at on this site the B's were all wide fronts and the C's were narrows. Am I correct?? Or does the C in front of the Serial number have no bearing? Thanks for any help to this young restorer!!

Allis B wide front end in reply to Johnny Tractor, 11-27-2007 21:32:12
Ok, now here is your Allis B with a wide front end, as you can see steering is different. Both arms face down, also it is a completely different type of WFE, more of a wish bone style.HTH

 Allis C w/ WFE in reply to 37 chief, 11-27-2007 21:32:12
Here is picture of an Allis C with wide front end. As you will notice both the steering sector arm(pitman) and the arm on the front end face up and on the Allis B they face down. Also the C as an adjustable WFE.

Well that number says its a C but since it has the wide front what you have is a C with a B front end on it. Yep many parts from Cs and B will work on either one. The C is a little wider then the B in the rear and has a little more power then a B but for the most part they are the same tractor and use the same engine
