According to the widow, this is a peanut tractor. I bought it from her this morning, she says its been sitting in the barn for approximately 40 years. I believe her, the wood is excellent and all gears/pulleys move freely.

For pic's type this in your browser;

>Link

What>Link do you do with something like this...yard art? I've also included a pic of the serail number plate on the fron left wooden post. Who makes this thing anyway? Thanks everyone!

Don't know where you are but I would be willing to bet that some tractor or stationary engine buffs in the south would love to own that thing for demonstration purposes at their local club. Never saw one before but it looks like a specialized version of some Clipper fanning mills sold around the auctions.

Well I can't say I'm an expert or anything, but to me it looks like a fanning mill on wheels. And either it's pretty big or you were holding the camera about ankle-high.

This is a peanut thresher. Did a google search for "peanut Thresher" and on about page 3 or 4 is a link with a picture and short video. Check this link... Gene

Sell/give it to a agriultural museum. Would NEVER last outside. Belongs inside, so find someone to take it who can give it a good home.

It would last about 6 months as yard art. I imagine it is a stationary peanut huller (essentially a threshing machine for peanuts. My guess is that it would have high value to some one, (President Jimmy Carter perhaps) but have no clue. EBAY would be better than turning it into a decayed pile of organic matter. JimN

It does have a front hitch (about six foot) with steering.

Stationary in my description means it is moved to a field, then remains stationary while the crop is brought to it. (threshing machines are this design) it is valuable to someone!!! JimN
