I think you just got a taste of why junk guys cut up old iron for scrap instead of selling it to collectors

The QX"s do show up in a number of things, used in misc farm/ag stuff as well as a number of trucks, as Gene says, but there"re a number of variations--do you have an engine tag showing which QX you have?
John S may know if they"re all interchangeable drop-ins as to size and motor mounts, but I"d assume at least the breathing and timing might be different on a compressor engine from an over-the-road truck engine.

That is like saying I have an old Chevie or Ford Pickup. First of all are there one or two heads on the engine? How long is the engine. You may want to post this on the Crawler or Oliver section. The old Oliver /Cletracs used Hercules engines but no QX series.

The John Deere 55 series combine, the Gibson model I tractor, and some trucks in the 40s & early 50's like maybe Federal used this engine.
