I have an old case tractor on cutoff steel wheels. I need to replace the rubber tire rim section and wondering how to center the spokes and rim? I saw a jig for this a few years back but can't duplicate it. Has anyone done this lately. Just want to get some ideas. Thanks

You are welcome to use my jig if you live near NE IA, no charge. It is a tripod with big slotted chanel iron, and big all treaded bolts that go under the rim. It has a large cone in the center to center the wheel. A lomg 1/4 inch rod adjusts outward to the outer edge of your spokes with a washer attatched to hold the cutting torch tip, thus a perfect circle / fit.

The old guys told me that you weld every spoke except the last one, then take a break / let it cool down, then weld the last one, otherwise the weldes will break.

Sorry, I could not explain it better. I purchased it at a auction thirty years ago, and was advised it was a dozen different things after I purchased it. I purchased it very cheap, and was a factory machine.
