Help! Does anyone know what to do to get a two way hydraulic on a M (not super M) to work in two ways? My unit only work in one way. It would go up, but not down. It does hold the cylinder with pressure though though. I had to use the other lever from the belly to make it come down. any help is helpful... Thank-you in advance.

if you are using the lift all pump, its only one way, gravity will drop the implement when you push the rod all the way in. you will need to add a two way valve to the system to power both ways. run the hose out from the belly pump into the in side of a two way open center valve, the return can go either to the oil fill pipe on top of the liftall, add a tee and cap, or go in to the oil drain hole at the bottom of the lift all pump, again add a tee, so you can put a drain in there. wire the control rod back and the pump will supply pressure as long as the clutch is out. if you want to get tricky, weld a short piece of 1/4 or 5/16 round stock to the lift all control rod at the full on position, then you can pull the rod back and hook it there.

Hi Digii3,

No idea if this applies in your case or not but.....I have a Ford County that for years would pressure extend remote cylinders but they had to drop by gravity. I thought it was made that way. One day I required down pressure for something so I looked a little closer and discovered a knob on the hydraulic valve that threaded in and out. Out allowed for a "float" position or one way hydraulics. In gave me pressure both ways. Gotta love those cheap and easy improvements.
