so i was out plowing with my 4010 today and i had to idle it dowwn a bit and it quit at like 1/2 throttle! just up and dies. so i got someone to pull it and it started. so i went on plowing and it did it again! NOW IT WON'T START! tried everything that i could. maybe is it a bad batch of fuel or is the pump shot? i know the thing on teh right side of teh engine where you bleed the air out of the line was leakin' but didn't think anything of it. maybe something got past the fuel filter. anyone have an idea? i'm stumped!
thanks much

2 years ago,on my 4010 diesel did the same thing, and i found out the suction tube in the tank was plugged with a bunch of gunk.I cleaned the tank out and ran like a top. Maybe an idea for ya to look at. Good luck

I presume with needing air bleeding its a diesel. I hear the pump has a plastic governor ring that should have already fragemented. Running faster is a hint of that ring failing, then pieces of it plug the fuel return line and that upsets the pump so it doesn't run. Open that return line at the pump and look for bits of black. I believe its rebuildable, but I am a gas tractor man, I haven't worked on any diesels.
