Bought a IH rear light last week Wednesday and paid with Paypal about ten minutes later. They gave me a receipt right away. Tuesday this week I get another receipt saying payment complete. What the heck is with the six days delay? Anyone else have this happen? Bought a second light Sunday and same thing happened except it cleared Wednesday....3 days. Going to take three weeks to get my stuff at this rate.

I never had any problems at all with paypal, either as a buyer or as a seller, until ebay took it over, and now paypal is full of glitches just like you mentioned. For that reason, I have began offering BidPay as an option. It is displayed right in my listings and can be used just as easily as paypal,(actually easier). I also offer Google checkout, but ebay will not allow that one to be displayed, so I use it for sales outside of ebay. I will take a money order or a personal check from folks that I know are honest, but I do not offer the money order option on ebay because too many people failed to read that I only take U.S. post office money orders.

Just to clarify Rusty, does that mean I couldn't send you a money order in US funds from a Canadian Bank?
Jay

I would accept that for an off-ebay transaction, and I would allow it to clear before shipping.

Also, ebay now has a new program that will allow you to purchase fixed price and store inventory items without registering first and becoming a member.

I have gotten multipal reciepts from pay pal why i don't know. Some payments (echeck and the ones you have to accept) take a few days. don't understand them. I don't think ebay would be as successfull because how many people would get a m/o for those $5.99 items? And checks are a problem yep got one bounced on me on ebay. As a seller it gets my money to me and I can ship the item, cuts off 1-weeks.

It probably transferred money from your bank to complete the transfer. Most banks take 3 to 5 days for electronic transfer via money wire. Paypal takes in consideration the weekend. Then you will get a message showing complete. Kinda like an electronic check.

That has to be it right there. It was an e-check type of arrangement. About two weeks ago I bought a set of front lights on Sunday, paid with PP and had the lights on Tuesday. Here we are two weeks later and things are held up 3-6 days just to pay the guy. Could have MAILED it to him in that time. I will still use PP though. Beats standing in line at the PO.

Have always heard bad things about Paypal, they sure don't give a fig about the buyers anyhow, maybe sellers are the ones who love them?

Have used Paypal for years. All ways got a receipt within 2 or 3 minutes. Only way to go. Friend got a bad item once and sent it back..Paypal got his money back..took them 3 months to collect it all, part at a time, but they did get it from the bad seller.

I have been using PayPal since it started and have never had any problems I think those that don't like it will soon learn that its the only way because most sellers won't take checks that bounce and money orders that are fakes.
PayPal is hard to cheat because the money goes direct from your account to the sellers.
If you check your PayPal account you might find that the seller took sometime to except the money transfer.

I will take your money order TF, I will even take your personal check. I use paypal because a lot of people want it. It has not been a problem for me.

Very seldom would I buy any thing on E-bay any more that did not take Paypal. Eception would probably be from some old honest farmer or tractor guy. I would bid less if not able to use Paypal.

You best hope you never have to use paypal or ebay to go after deadbeat sellers or buyers . I used them twice , they said the sellers paid but they kept the money for their services . Go figure that one . Then if you sell something , they charge to put it on & then charge again a percentage of the bid total . And then paypal gets their hands padded if you use their services also in the deal . Its just another legal racket . Have a nice Thanksgiving & God bless our Troops . Ken
