I completely rebuilt my Great GrandFathers 1948 Farmall Super A about 10 years ago. It runs better than when it was new according to my Grand Father. I moved 2 years ago from Ohio (the land of the BUCKEYES)elevation of 50ft. to Washington (The Great N.W.) and elevation of 2,500Ft. and I keep fowling out the plugs. It seems that I need to clean the plugs every 3months, and this was never a problem before I moved. I don't think that the fuel can be lean back to prevent the fowling of the plugs, or should I go with a "hotter" plug, or move back to OHIO.

This is the easiest fix (if your carb has an adjustable main jet) The altitude is causing it to run rich, At full throttle (high Idle), turn in the main jet screw 1/2 turn at a time until it starts to loose power a bit, then turn out till it perks up. Try it under load and see if a bit more makes better performance. Do the same for the Idle mixture screw at Idle, and it will do you well. If it has a fixed main jet, a different smaller jet will be needed. JimN
