Yep, got them all done last week. Well the ones on my place anyway. It is going to get to the block cracking "magic number" 25 deg tonight here in west central Indiana. I had been running rain water in them to clean out scale.

Glad you brought that up! I got an old one and two newer ones that both need checked. Temps overnight have been hovering around 30-35 but were supposed to get to the low 20's tonight.

Beleive it or not, I had ice on the windsheild this morning and the thermometer said 35. It'll be 65 after lunch. I could stand this weather all year, I've had enough of Florida's oppressive heat and humidity for the year!

Asked the wife what she thought the neighbors would say if I brought the old devil in here to "Upland Acres" to work on it this winter. Would they think it was an eyesore to the communtiy?

She said, "Don't know about them. However, you ain't gettin' it by me in the first place". :>)

It just 'taint easy fixin' old iron ya know. :>(

Hey maybe you could surprise the wife with a big ol shinny diamond or new truck tires or big screen tv and when she's grinning from ear to ear say, honey can I bring my new engineless combine to shady acres so I'll have something to tinker on in my spare time.LOL

Already tried that and she's on to me.

Think the last straw was when I bought another old junk combine. Somehow, I detect that the twinkle seems to have left her eye.

Think the honeymoon might be over. :>(
