Hello All,

I need to know what brands/models of older DIESEL tractors that used a in-line injection pump instead of the what seems to be more common
rotary style pump. This is for a R&D project I am working on.

Thanks

Some Case tractors had inline pumps. I have a 1958 Case 900B with the inline pump.

The British built grey Ferguson Diesels used an inline pump, also the Perkins that was sold as a conversion kit at the time had an inline pump. Also the Perkins conversion for British Fords (E27N) used an inline pump as well as the New Major and the Dexta. I'm fairly sure the Nuffield tractors had inline pumps on them. The old IH start on gas diesels used inline pumps as well as their British direct start Farmall diesels of the same era. Hope this helps, tractorsam

Some 3 and most 4 cylinder Fords from '65 on use inlines, and I think all Ford 6-clyinders use them. (I think the first Ford 6-cyinder was the 6000 in '61) Most 3-cylinders have the rotaries, and some 4-cylinders do also. No definate reason as to what ones got which, as far as I can tell.

My mid 1970's Ford 4 & 6 cyl diesels have in-line. As you say, I don't know there is any rhyme or reason to which got what....

All the old 2 cyl. Deere's from 1949 model R to the last of them built in 1960 had I suspose what you can call inline ? as they had 2 pumps side by side one for each cylinder.
