Am going to try to make Applebutter this week end if I can get ready . Going to make in 20 GAL kopper kettle that belonged to my Grandmother . has been about 30 years since we made applebutter hope I can remember how . Will let you all know how turns out . will try to send Pictures .

The stand for mine was made from a old car wheel "wood spoke kind" by my Grandfather will take picture of it and send to you .

Some pictures taken of me with paddle in hand , and of finished product . Kettle turned out to be a 15 gal we got 10 1/2 gal of applebutter or 42 Qts . Not bad for first time in 30 years .

My wife's late parents always made applebutter on the farm. Her mother had the recipe memorized.
We were going to make it here at one time, but they had the copper kettle but didn't have the stand for kettle. I could've had one made at work. I guess the stand was lost during one of their moves. Hal

We always made pear butter, never apple butter- don't know why, exactly, maybe just tradition. Have had apple butter as an adult, and actually like it better- the pear butter was really too sweet. Have fun.
