This pic was taken across the road from my house the other day.The tractors are both 7820's.The equipment is Allen, which is manufactured here on Prince Edward Island. It is well known here for reilability. The one on the left of the pic is a 2 row digger, complete with a blower to blow some of the dirt off the potato's as they fall down to the cross conveyer. The blower is powered by a 50 hp Kubota engine. The one on the right is a 4 row windrower. You can see that there is potato's setting in between the drills infront of the digger, picking up 6 rows at a time.pd.

Hi Dwayne! That looks like a nice dry field. Drove through Carleton County two weeks ago, about 6 in the A.M., and they were making lots of dust! We are damp right now, making the manure spreading a little sticky.

'twould be a brave boy that would put 10 wheels in a field around here right now. The sight of 11R24.5's going to the hubs ain't pretty.

I gots some stone free soil.... with heavy clay, but most is sandy loam from a sandstone slate base under it and not much depth. We're after wearing some of the rock out with the rock rake, but I'm afraid the rake has taken most of the wear. I've seen us take 300 cubic yards of rock of an 8 acre field.... and then do it all over again the next year. Those fields are getting better though.
Yep, we have a little bit of rock.
Still wouldn't be caught dead on most of those fields today with a 10 wheeler though. Great way to jerk an axle out from under one... It's been a wee bit wet here since about the end of June.

Had the gov.t expert in a couple of weeks ago. Wants me to leave the rocks in the ground to help with warming the soil.So long to rock picking!
