Well I figured I need to clean and tighten/ replace. So I checked the battery post and cleaned them and replace the - cable end and put it back together and now all is as it should be. Started it up and the volt gauge reads as it should

It's always great to hear the solution to these problems. I'm glad this one was simple.

Right there with ya old.

We came back after being gone for the weekend and found my starter bound up against the gears. My first wire job had the starter switch wired to the batt side of the switch not the switched side. (It has been fixed) I do not have the spring detents for the neutral start switch so I did not hook it up yet. Therefore, with the neutral switch bypassed nothing prevented the starter from being turned while the key was off. Apparently my local hooligans figured this out and attempted to drive it on the starter. They made it 3 inches before it smoke checked the positive terminal. Had to pull it and clean it to get it running again. Lucky no one got hurt.

The last time they tried to climb in the window and fell off the deck onto my a/c unit. I would not have known who it was but a local kid came up with a broken collar bone that he could not explain.

Glad ya found it,

Aaron

Old,
Had you figured that before you posted? If'n you didn't, my idea of your capabilities has diminished and if you did, why did you bother to post? Either way youcan't win. You didn't really have a problem, did you? Easy to work out in a SYSTEMATIC way.

Just regards, RAB:)

I had not figured it before I posted the first time but I was also up to my eye balls in work at the time and didn't have the time to trouble shoot it. I post things like this for 25% help and 75% to help others. Today was the first time in a week I had to slow down and take a real look at things. Some how when years ago you could work an 8-10 hour day and now since disabled I can work 3-5 hour on a good day its hard to keep up with all that I need/have to do

Hey Old, I've noticed that you have not been active on the forum here lately. I thought you must have been busy. Glad to see you back.

Yep been very busy here lately. Tring to get some machines up and running, building some fence and also make a quick hook up thing for a friends little loader thing. When done it will have a sort of 3 point hook up on it so he can drive posts and also move round bales. But I have been on at least twice a day even when busy, just not many posts that I could help out with lately LOL

Gotta love the simple stuff. I've learned mostly from this site to remove and polish all the connections before getting out the wallet. I always keep a can of battery cleaner and a can of protectant on hand. I'm glad it worked out : )
