Can anyone give me information about this old tractor? It's in the woods on my property, all wheels are steel. I'd appreciate any info about it, such as what Brand Name, Model, Year of Manufacture, Value, etc. from anyone who really knows tractors. How and where would I sell it? Anyone interested?

Afew years ago I was helping one of my brother-in-laws set a mobile home at his place. A big truck shows up pulling the mobile home. The driver has a tough time making the turn to get the mobile home on to the drive way and manages to drop one set of trailer tires in the ditch. Driver tries and tries but can't get it out. My brother-in-laws brother is there says he will go to his parents house to get their tractor.Ten minutes later I here what sounds like a tractor coming down the dirt road, eventually I can see the kids head above the roadside brush bouncing up and down at a crawl. When he clears the brush I see that he is sitting on a tractor just like the one pictured above, steel wheels and all. The truck driver wants nothing to do with it but I tell him we might as well try. We hook the old tractor up to the front of the truck, the kid starts pulling and miracle of miracles the whole rig comes out. I was ready to laugh when that old tractor first came around the bend but that old girl surprised me.

Someone has pieced this thing together. The tractor is an old "F" series Farmall. You can still see the Farmall name on the fuel tank, if you look close. The engine is an old Chevrolet 216, probably from the 1940s, or early 1950s. As the others have said, the steel wheels are what you have of value here. There may possibly be a few other tractor parts that can be salvaged.

Farmall F12 on steel. This is what your tractor used to look like.

It is an F12. But someone mounted a 6 cylinder from something else on it.

not F20, has clamp type rear wheels, F20 wheels were 6 bolt hub. engine appears to be early 50's chevy, 2 bolt valve cover thru center of cover later chevy used more bolts at sides of valve cover note automatic choke prior to early 50's all were manual choke.

It's an F12, straight steering rod, steel steering wheel, if original would make it pre 1937. The frame has been extended. Steel wheel would be the main worth, if not rusted through.
The classifieds and photo ads on this site are a good place to sell. Where are you located?

Heres the values from this site.
Theres model, year, state purchased, price and condition. I'd be interested, but I am only looking for a working tractor, steel wheels would tear up the driveway and my rear end if I got it going to the field....

Thanks for the help. I wondered about the engine. Do you think the engine may be from an automobile?

Looks like an old F series Farmall - sure someone here will tell you exact model and year range, my guess would be most value would be in the steel wheels - guessing 1929 to 1937 year range
