I've got a 1983 International 845 XLN and having used 4 wheel drive, I can't get it to disengage. Any ideas?

Try backing up about 10ft while pushing on lever to disengage. Front wheels turn faster than back, so they build up pressure. Backing up takes the load off and it should come right out. Chris

Rock it back and forth gently while pulling on the lever. If this doesn't work you may need to go under and see what is sticking. If it hasn't been used for some time it just might be rust in the linkage.

Thanks Walt,

Someone said to me that it might be "under pressure" and needs to be disengaged on the move. I'll try it.
