posted this on garden tractors too,but sometimes i get garden tractor help here too.anyway,have jd 110 with k181s that i got running this spring-thanks to a lot of help from Bob . new points,condenser and switch,has run just great all summer,yesterday comming out of woods just dies suddenly,not so much as a sputter,no spark at all.suppose condenser could be bad,only been in about 6 months,wiring is all good,disconected kill wire.bad sator? never had an engine just die so suddenly,just purring away seconds before. thanks for any help.

Had a K301 12 HP quit this summer and it was the condencer one day it worked next day it would not start. Don

One possible is a sheared crank key at the tapered mount of the flywheel. Pulling it apart is going to be the only possible way to fix it. JimN

Arn't the points on that kohler under the cover right there in the open. It wouldnt take much to look and see if there dirty and opening and closing.Check the gap too.
