I was looking a getting a small cordless wet dry vac. Dewalt, Ridgid, and Ryobi all make a cordless wet dry vac. I would mainly use this for cleaning out my pick-up and any other vehicle cabs. I only keep around one cordless drill and that's hitachi and it's about ready to give it up so I would probably in the market for a new drill and an impact. I would say when I was a construction worker the dewalt tools my boss had all held up pretty well but if ryobi tools would hold up under medium use that would be just fine with me, I've never been around any ridgid tools. So what do you guys think?

I have most all the 18 volt Ryobi tools and have been pleased with all. They seem to hold up at leaast as well as the high $ models. Drill has been dropped out of the hay loft, run over in the manure pile, left out in the rain. Still works great. Their little shop vac works great too. Be warned that any of them will have a fairly short battery time on a vacuume. But at 1/3 the price, can't go wrong. Teh impact works great too. Got the "dustbuster" version and it was weak. I've gone through several other brands for a lot more money, and I'm sticking with the Ryobi. Mike

I bought a factory reconditioned Ridgid cordless kit and have been very pleased. I'm not a professional builder, but I do maintenance at a run-down campground so it sees more use than a regular old residential setting.

Like the tractor colors and the ford / chevy war, we could go on for a long time here. Most cordless tools are comparable to tools in the same price range. Other words, if you spend $200 on a drill it will be better than a $100 drill but not neccessarily better than the next $200 drill. With that said, I have been using Ryobi for over 15 years in the construction industry with good results. I also have good luck with their corded tools. Just my 35 yrs worth...

In my 23 years in the building trades, I would recommend none of them. Makita is the only one I would recommend, (I really like my new 18V Litium Ion setup), but they don't make a shop vac. Greg

We use Dewalt to carry up on the top of the huge chippers and grinders we build to vacuum out the water in all the pockets after we wash and before we paint. Had it long time , took lots of abuse , works great! (www.morbark.com)
