I am in a dilemma. My fiance wants to have the new song by Big and Rich for our wedding song and I don't care much for it. My fiance and I really enjoy older country when the songs where more pure in my opinion. My problem is I can't think of any older songs from the past that would make a good wedding song. All help is appreciated.

Brad google Don Williams. I think you might find something you like in his repertoire.(had to look that one up in the dictionary) :-)

Good Luck

Presently I would favour 'Don't Fear the Reaper' by BOC, but twenty four years ago, the Best Girl and I had 'My Cup Runneth Over' by Ed Ames. Not country but maybe sweet and sappy enough to impress her for the day. It's her day, so make it the best you can.
Good Luck to you both.

How about--"Daisy,Daisy,Give me your answer-do.
----- -----It Won't be a stylish----I can't afford
a carriage. But you'll look sweet-upon the seat
of a bicycle built for two. That's old. Chuck

You know what happens when you play a country song backwards: You get your dog back, you get your truck back and you get your boots back.

Hopefully, your bride-to-be is as understanding as mine was during the planning stages. There were only a couple of points that I felt one way about and she felt another. After a little discussion, and compromise, the whole event turned out to be the party of the year. =)

I do know this, women will be pretty emotional about "your song", but I believe that it should mean something to the both of you. Maybe a song of this type could be "When I Said I Do" by Clint and Lisa Hartman Black. Obviously this is just a suggestion, I think you 2 should sit down and think about some of your earlier "dates" maybe something was playing at a special moment. Look up lists of your favorite artists songs... something will eventually pop out, and you both will be happy about it.
Ok, enough "Mr. Sensitivity" talking... Now I have to go out and grease something and grunt a few times just to return to normal "man mode"
Good Luck, Brian

You aint marryin the song, just the girl!
First thing to learn is where to pick your battles. Let her pick the song, wedding details mean awhole lot more to the woman. The important thing to you is you got the deal sewed up, so let her play whatever music she wants...congratulations and good luck! ...just my 2 cents. Scottyb

We are from two parts of the midwest. I just wanted to show up and that is how it was going so far. Then she sayz that I never help with anything and I would like a song or maybe a tractor hay ride from the church to the nearest tavern. We are having the wedding and party very close to her family and making all of mine travel over 100 miles one way to come. I would just like to have one thing to help me feel just a little more excited about the wedding day. Right now all is see is money being spent and no tractors gettin fixed for awhile I happy with marrying her but something special is nice also.

I dare you to tell her you need something to feel exited about on your wedding day. Do that and it might be a funeral instead of a wedding. Ouch. But kind of funny.

Often, before making a decision I think of that line, "you gotta know when to hold em--know when to fold em" Know when to run". Too much of the time we do not fold soon enough.

This probably won't be the last time you won't agree on everything. After 54 years of marriage you need to listen to a woman's view on things. They see things different.

Not everything life is attainable and I know first hand when I asked a girl from another school to attend my senior prom. On prom night she didn't show and was working in another state. Was I disappointed? I guess a little, but about 2 years later I married her. Hal

How about that song from Kenny rogers The gambler. It goes "you gotta know when to hold em--know when to fold em" Know when to run.
