OT Pruning Palo Verde trees on my property...

They are growing right on the property line and I see problems in my future with neighbors if I don't do something. Just bought this property and going to build a house on it, but would like to clean up a little bit before they start building.

I'm wondering how much I can prune off these without killing them...

BTW- house is postponed a couple weeks again, had to re-vamp the floor plan to make the septic drain field fit... but good news is I got a little bigger garage (24x28 now!), bad news is we lost our covered patio.

I see that they are under the power lines, call the power company and they will trim them for free.

If you will google palo verde tree you will find a wealth of information. there is even a web site called gardenweb that has a forum for gardening questions for your area. Im sure you can find the info you are looking for there.
And you will know its correct.

Those are beautiful trees. Would love to have one here. Might just try one.

good luck
Randy

If the tree trunk and roots are on your side of the true property line, then you are in control of all that is on your side of the line.
The best policy is to be up front and kind with the neighbors in a meaningful way. Bring a Pie and a 12pack and discuss the future of the trees from the point of view of what the best compromise turns out to be. Write it up such that you all have signed copies (removes doubt and later issues), and live by it. This seems simple, but is a very good thing to do. JimN

Thank you for the sound advice. I'm hoping to introduce myself to the neighbors before they break ground for the house.
