I have a ford 900 that I just bought. When I off loaded it from the truck yesterday, I went thru 3rd, reverse, 1st and 2nd, then I decided to try 5th. Works great...I can"t get it out of gear to save my life! Maybe set screw is loose in xmission? Any hints? I LOVE this machine!!!

The shifter probably jumped out of the gate. Easiest way to fix is remove the shift lever, and with the brake on,or wheels blocked so it doesn't roll away, take a long screwdriver and align the shift gates.Looking down in the hole, the 5th gear gate should be on the left.Align the slot with the other gates and reinstall the shifter.
If this becomes a recurring problem the shifter and or shift linkage will have to be replaced. The end of the shifter gets worn thin and the gates become worn and rounded off allowing the lever to jump past the gate instead of shifting the gate.
