Ive used an Olympus C50 compact digital camera with 5M pixels for 2 years and as you've seen from my photos its produced great pictures. But last month I broke it - drat.
Found an identical model on ebay which I bought for $110 + postage. Arrived in good condition with small capacity photo card. It would'nt accept my large capacity card. Turns out was same model but earlier build which only takes out of production memory cards - drat.
Anyway after weeks of deliberation found a new Olympus MJU810 camera on ebay - brand new in box with 8M pixels + 1GB memory card and all software & leads for $242 + postage. The seller registered in next County to here. Bought it Saturday night, and it arrived here Wednesday afternoon. Guess where the company is based - in the USA !!!! They obviously have an agent here who sells on ebay. We've had our 1st rain for over 6 weeks today, so as soon as it stops I'll be out there trying it out at the All Wales Ploughing Match on Saturday. Watch out for more photos soon.
David

Thank God we were getting tired of those same old pics from the old camera. I hope this new one has a lot of new pics in it.

These Olympus compacts use a small square battry which is rechargeable. They come with a mains charger unit, and I bought spare battery and a 12V car charger. So Ive alsways got a spare battery in the camera case with me, and can charge a battery away from home.
Also bought a 518MB memory card which gives 350 photos storage. The new camera came with 1GB card which gives me 650 photo storage.
Most cameras only come with card that gives 50 photo storage, not enough for my needs.
I take camera with me every time I leave house, take loads of pictures of everything and delete ones I dont like or not good views when I get home.
Know nothing about cameras, just shoot loads, and if its a good photo will keep them on computor and share relavent ones with you guys.
David

Can hardly wait to see your pictures. Isn't this ebay/ camera thing a riot? Bought a couple-three off ebay recently. Not new ones, but used. Some were like new, however.

That's for sure - I got a Nikon D80 from Ebay this summer in time for vacation.

It was several hundred cheaper than any store I could find!
