Well I think I found the problem. I'm redoing the floor in the room the wire runs under for the water heater and I had the breaker turned on and grabed the wire and moved it. Theres was a big spark and a pop and the breaker popped off so I guess I have a bad wire. Guess a mouse got hungry.

when you replace the wire, either run it in conduit, use bx armored cable or use the greenfield flexible conduit. that 'll give them little buggars somethin ta chew on!!

Wish I could have gone that way but remodeling the bath room has me down to 0 in my bank account so I spliced the wire and put as much of it as I could in PVC and then put a lot of the spray foam in the PVC and over the splice so at least that should slow them down

Lucky he didn't start a fire too. Put some Decon in there for him before you close it up. Course he will stink for alittle while...

no, it's just lucky that old didn't electrocute himself by grabbing the wire in the wrong spot.

Believe me I looked the wire over good before I grabbed it just any place. Being an EX navy E.T. I know how it feels to find the ZAP-U-TRONS the hard way and prefer not to do so if and whne I can

Yeah that and unlucky he spent 3 days messin" around with a perfectly good water heater... If his luck is like mine, the wire replacement will solve the breaker problem and the darn H2O heater will start to leak at the elements!
GOOD LUCK.
