Can a Farmall Cub belly mower be attached to a Farmall Super A without modications? If not, what modications are required?

I did it. You can do it. Might need to drill, weld, cut and change PTO pulley size. Cut 6 to 8 acres every 2 weeks. Well worth the trouble.

The SUPER A will have different mounting than the CUB i have sold several WOODS on SA and A The belt pulley speed on the SA will run the mower fast enough. Dont know why they would tell you that it is PTO drive. As for blade rotation you just route the belt for whichever direction needed. The CUB mounts could be changed if you have a local welding shop or someone who can do the work as its not hard to do. If shipping wouldnt be a problem i could do it. I live in east central IOWA.

Besides the Cub PTO rotating the wrong direction, it also rotates at engine speed [up to 1800 rpm]...so besides reversing rotational direction, you also need to change pulleys to speed up mower rotation by a factor of approximately 3 [since Super A PTO is 540 rpm] to match the mower's speed on a Cub.

Hard to cut stuff when your mower's not turning fast enough.

PTO on a cub spins a different direction then the one on an A so you would have to figure out how to make the blades spin the right way for them to be able to cut well

I think all one has to do to change belt direction is cross or uncross the belt depending on which it needs to rotate.

I bought an Allis C this spring with a 5' belly mower. I got on it and started mowin' and noticed it was just chewin' the grass off. The blades needed sharpening anyway so I did that. It still did not cut good. I got to lookin' at it and realized that the blades were turning wrong. I just changed the way the drive belt was wrapped around the main drive pulley, and Presto! It mows as good as my Wheelhorse and doesn't take near as long. However, if it stays as dry as it has been this summer, it may have to go to another home. I know now that it is hard to grow a lot of things in a desert.

you probably need different rear brackets to mount the mower to the tractor. the woods on my cub has a rod that slides into the rear side by the drawbar. the woods mower on my farmall b has brackets that hang down, one by the rt axle, and one to the left of the pto housing. i cant remember the bracket set up on the cub offhand. the cub pto spins in the opposite direction also, you probably will need to switch blades if its turning the wrong way.
