A neighbour of my mother is a welding inspector on a 48" natural gas line being installed near London Ontario. When completed it too will be carrying natural gas at 1000lbs pressure. Couldn't help being amused when he commented on how old the welders are to-day (average age 50), you see, he is 74 himself. He's been retired from Union Gas for years but come construction time, they keep calling him out of retirenent to help. Can't blame them as he's always first on the job and last off each day, uses his own cell phone instead of the company's to make personal calls and even washes his company supplied truck on the weekends. In return he gets over $400/day, the truck, hotel accommodations and meals as well. Long post, but I though it would be nice for older fellows on this site to know that there's life after "retirement".

How much of that $400/day is going to the Canadian govmint? The ones getting paid to not work are the smart ones.
