I have a 1997 JD 6400 MFWD tractor. The three point is controlled by 3 different means. You can raise/lower the 3 point using buttons on the back fenders (these work), there are electronic raise and lower buttons in the cab (these work), and there is a manual raise and lower inside the cab using a 1/2 moon sliding device. This 1/2 moon doesn"t work to raise or lower the 3 point but there other two methods do. Does anyone know what is going on? I checked the fuses (the correct ones I believe) and they all looked good. Help!

check the connections at the 3 pt potentiometer-what you call the half moon device. if they look good unhook it and remove it from the tractor. hook an ohmmeter to the potentiometer. should be a connector with 3 terminals. move the knob up and down and your resistance should change with moving the knob. if it doesnt then your potentiometer is bad.

It looks like my potentiometer is bad. When I had the ohmmeter on it there was nothing. It looks like I need to replace the sensor thing. Part number Re64281 OR rel4796. I am going to price them tomorrow.
