Hi Rich;
That is one of the nicest restored tractor & plough combinations that Ive ever seen. Congratulations, I know how much work, money & sweat goes into that total build. And your place looks good too. Thanks for the photos.
David

Beautiful rig. Please explain why the plow has two sets of moldboards stacked the way that they are and how they are used. Thanks.

djfarmer,

I'll give it a shot.
One set of the moldboards throws the dirt to the right so you put the tractors right wheel in the furrow and plow until the end of the field. At the end you raise the plow and hydraulicly spin the plow....now the moldboards will throw the dirt to the left. You put the tractors left wheel in the furrow and plow to the other end of the field. The advantage of this type plow is you can plow an entire large field and not have a dead furrow in it....also in hilly country you can always plow the dirt back up hill.
Thanks, Rich

DJ,

It is a spinner plow. Think of it as two one-way plows built into one.

Trkr,

My plow is the 825 Stiff Standard model.

JD made the 825A and 825C with Trip-Back Standards.

Have a great weekend, Rich

OK, so now it's time to go out to some shows and collect blue ribbons and big trophies. That's one of the most beautiful restorations I've ever seen, would make a JD guy (or gal) outta anyone.

Excellent, excellent job!

That one belongs in a John Deere showroom somewhere. Don't let 'em see it; they'll be trying to dicker ya out of it. :>)

Ya know, I look at painted up tractors all the time and kinda shrug and move on, same old same old. No offense but not really my thing....
Then pictures like this come along, and I gotta pick my jaw up off the floor.
That outfit really looks better than new, you have every right to be so darned proud that you can`t keep the buttons on yer shirt. Hat`s off to anyone who is willing to take that kind of time and dedication to a project. That is just a really cool match, have fun and enjoy all the compliments... BW

Nice lookin' piece, fantastic job. Now, it's be a shame to put that in the ground and get it all dirty and scraped up.
