I"m looking at a real nice 3020 diesel with power shift. I"ve wanted one a long time, but these tractors are now getting 40 years old and I was wondering about parts. Has anybody had problems getting parts? Any thoughts on availability in the future? I can see me keeping this tractor 20 or more years. Thanks for any comments, dirtdigger

I bought mine over 7 years ago. J.D. usually has most parts Ive needed. HOWEVER...like the other replier there are some things that are becoming obsolete. Mine is a gas with the zenith carb. THey dont carry anymore but can get aftermarket. Also when you get parts look at aftermarket stuff, alot cheeper for instance exhaust man I bought price J.D. over 300.00 aftermarket 140.00. And you cant tell. I love mine but would like a 4020 also. What would you be using this for?

Mainly for haying (small square). Possibly some light loader work, nothing that would pull it too hard. I remember when I was a kid and a 3020 was our "big tractor"

I say if you find a good one buy it now as they never seem to go down in price. They are popular enough that if JD drops makeing parts for them others start makeing them. One thing come to mind is the nameplates for the hood sides. JD stopped selling the right ones and someone else started makeing them. I think they are allready gaining popularity among collectors.
