This is one of the two forage harvesting teams that Graham Parkes operates in Pembrokeshire. He uses NH foragers, and a mixture of tractors inc JCB Fastracs, McCormick MTXs, NH7840, & a Claas pulling these 14 ton capacity tipping trailers.
They are cutting 2nd cut silage - a mixture of White Clover & Perenial Ryegrass. These swaths are made by a 50 feet wide Claas rotary rake.
Bare agricultural land without house or buildings would sell for around $6000 acre. Small plots up to 5 acres would sell for $20,000 as "pony paddocks" to rich people.

We bought our 6 acres for about $5,600 an acre, which was a steal around here. Guy down the road bought two acres for $50,000 an acre!

David,

Thanks for the great photos. I"m nearly 100% Scottish heritage, so it"s neat to see farmland in that "neck of the woods". I"d love to visit the UK someday. Thanks for all your help and a perspective from across the pond.

John

Ground like that would sell by the square foot over here in the states instead of by the acre. I'd guess the figure would go into the half a mil by the acre though?

David, Not sure if there is any bare agricultural land in the US with a view like that. But if there was it would not sell for anything close to 6k per acre.

I sure enjoy your pictures. Keep them coming.

You are so right. The 40 acre soybean field directly south of me just sold to a doctor for $4,600/acre and the only view it has is of the cornfields on all sides of it :-) I would love a view like David is showing.

Those coastal farms have a million dollar view.
