Well, didn't have a chance to pull the motor on the Ford today like I had hoped. I think you guys are probably right about the harmonic balancer though. As far as that knock though, you guys have any ideas??? It only started knocking after one of the coil wires came loose and it started missing and backfiring. It will run good for 10-15 minutes, get warmed up, and then the knock will start. Not entirely sure where it is coming from at this point. Hard to isolate the exact location because of the exhaust noise. Could it just be out of time? If so, why would that cause it to knock? It holds good oil pressure and although the oil was low, I agree that it was probably just absorbed by the new seals. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. This thing was a complete mess when I got it and needed alot of work. I was glad to see it go and really didn't want it back, but it is for family. Anyway, thanks for the help.

If I read your original post right, at or a bit below ADD on the dip stick should not have done any harm. Why pull the engine out until you have tried replacing the damper ? The noise may be from the failed damper. Wobbly outer ring striking the timing pointer possibly ??

John, wanted to pull the motor to be able to work on it more easily nd tear it apart to find out what was making the noise. Had other things come up and now have to leave for college tonight. Dad will have to work on the truck or it will have to sit until Labor Day weekend when I have some time off. With the lost time, I don not plan to pull the motor if I don not have to. Will hopefully remove the harmonic balancer this morning and get it replaced if need be. Guess I will go from there... Thank you!!!
