Before flat 8 accumulators & handlers became popular, the usual method was to drag a bale sledge along behind the baler with a chain. When there were 7 or eight bales collected, pull a rope from the cab to release the rear tailgate and drop of the bales ready for stacking.

have a freind that is a metal fabricator/ welder that makes them for the green outfit when they need them.they paint the proper color and do the markup

I was using mine today. Made by Farmhand. I have no idea how old it is but it saves a lot of time picking up bales. Also pretty much eliminates the need for a truckdriver with the bales in groups.

How does the operator know when to pull rope? Does he need to count bales in his head?

Looks like youhad a pretty heavy stand of hay. What kind of tonnage you getting per acre?

do you have more pictures of that. it looks like something i need to make for my baler. Right now we just go around the field after we bale the hay and put them in piles. this would definately save soome time.
