I crinkled the first primer coat by applying the second too soon. Darn Humidity. Is there some way to wipe this off and save some progress or will it have to be sanded off? It is on the chassis of my MF65. Thanks Aaron

Thanks Guys. I sanded it back down. Not sure of exactly what happened, but the horizontal areas took on a matte finish. I could not figure out whether it was overspray or a reaction between the first coat and the second coat. It sanded easily. I went ahead and sanded most of the tractor while I was at it. The problem areas looked so good after sanding that I figured it wouldn't hurt to level some of the other surfaces. I am waiting to make sure the second coat dries before applying the third. Thanks again, Aaron

Aaron, I learned a lesson like that when I was doing my Camero. You cannot use the same paint and laquer thinner for second coat or it will wrinkle up. You have to use a reducer in one coat and then change to a laquer thinner for the next coat. If you use the same concoction it will wrinkle every time. I'm no expert, ask your question on the paint board and you will get a better explanation and better advice, all I know is you can't second coat with what you used on the first, humidity is not a factor in your problem.Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario

Michael, that method is asking for trouble. Use the thinner or reducer called for on the product. If it wrinckles, you are doing something wrong. Probably, the primer was not dry. Check the label. You should be able to recoat unless the label says otherwise.

You'll need to sand it out unless you want to chemically strip it (I wouldn't).
