The field should have been mown a couple of months previously but due to the wettest June, July & now August on record, they had to wait until early August when we got a few dry days.
You can see the regrowth coming through from the bottom, and the earlier growth had died off. Tough mowing conditions

It looks like the drum mower is bunching the crop. Is that normal? I was considering getting a drum mower, but not if they bunch like that. I already have a tired old swather that does that. Are there any drum mower guys out there that can answer that?

David, How does that mower cut so low without shredding the top grass before windrowing? Thanks!

David; what is the yellow and black sign on the upper right rear corner of the tractor cab for? Is it a license number for something? Nice looking countryside. Don't get many rural scenes from there. LE

It is a license number plate. I thought it was strange when I was in Iceland that the tractors had license plates. There (Iceland) they use tractors for everything, for some it is their only mode of transportation.
