im think that we are going to start picking in a week or two. i dont think that they will last in the field until october, has been really wet around here in eastern iowa.

I don't see mine lasting untill the end of Oct either with deer and risk of rot. What can I do if I was to pick them in a couple weeks? Any way of just storing them for the next 2 months? Dont have as many as last year, just to sell by the road.

i checked mine yesterday, have some orange ones on the vines, also planted some of the spooky white ones, have some of them too. watermelons are about 16"softball size. some of the pumpkin vines are still flowered. north central illinois. kinda goofy.

Yep, mine here in MI are orange already, and selling time is Halloween. Kinda worried they wont last in the field with deer and rot. Plants are dying off due to severe drought and other disease.

I have a few starting to turn orange...planted a month later than last year because they turned ripe at this time of year...I'm confused. At least they are setting some new ones still...

Our pumpkins aren't ripe quite yet, but one of our competitor's pumpkins are starting to die down.

They'll be ready soon enough though...
