Ok watched last week and it was about a steam powered sawmill still in operation. this week it was Fire trucks and equipment. Now don't get me wrong I actually enjoyed watching them and all but, What does that have to do with TRACTORS???? can someone tell me?

I have dish network and I have to pay extra just to get the chanel. I only have it because of my interest in classic tractors and the NTPA pulling show. I think they need to get off there duffs and get out to the tractor shows and the people at the shows, film the events and put that on. Take the 10 year old tractor re-runs and half of the hay burner crap off. Then do a show in place of the hay burner about the old steam engines ect. Just my little opinon and no I don't hate hay burners even if some of the hay burner shows are stupid.

I thought they were interesting. I've been getting pretty tired of watching reruns of the same shows over and over anyway. Just wish they'd come up with some new editions of Machinery of the Past.

I liked the show but I understand the complaints that it wasnt tractor related other than having tractors in the back ground of some of the shots.
I kind of think there may be more to getting a tractor show on RFD. I know our club would like to offer a show but I bet there is a little more to it than sending a tape of your show to them. It wouldnt supprise me none that the tractor clubs have to pay something for the RFD to air the show or advertising of your show by putting it on the air. Sure would like to know the truth.

I saw both shows and feel sorta like everyone else....what happened to the subject matter? The sawmill thing was interesting for me because I used to live in northern California near the timber country and also because we had a small sawmill set-up on the farm where I grew up here in Michigan. Anyhow, it appears they have run out of applicable material for the tractor subject. Or, maybe someone selecting the show material got a funny notion we tractor buffs needed something else for a change.. Myself, I'd rather watch reruns of the better already ran tractor shows. As for horses...keep the glue factories open, horses belong under a hood not behind a fence eating oats and hay...Yeeehaa.

Know what you mean; it's a little like our TRACTOR club. For a monthly meeting, they might have a local vegetable grower come in and talk about his operation. Fine and dandy, he grows great vegetables, but..... ?????

I saw the show on the mill and while interesting, it should have been on their "Machinery of the Past" show. I used to like the old guy that hosted "Classic Tractors." Now they have Max Armstrong who really seems to think quite a bit of himself.

i saw that with the saw mill i found that interesting. fire trucks you have to be kidding. i know they are very important to us but put on the discovery channel. there is enough stuff on RFD that shouldn't be there. they need more tractor pulling and i would like to see more horse and oxen farming and logging.

I also like to watch Classic Tractors on the "Horse Channel". I mean RFDTV. Don't know what horses have to do with farming nowdays unless your Amish, (and they don't have TV to watch the program) but thats another subject. I have to say I think it stinks that Classic Tractors can feature a tractor parade somewhere or a tractor show and only come up with 20 minutes of actual tractors and machinery and 40 minutes of commercials and slapping themselves on the back for what a great job they do with RFDTV. Any tractor parade I've been to lasts at least an hour and a tractor/steam show usually lasts 2 or 3 days, yet they can only come up with 20 minutes of actual material? Give me a break! I can only attend 1 or 2 local shows a year where I always see the same machinery and was hoping Classic Tractors would take us around the country to other shows via my TV but you don't see much in the way of classic tractors as the title implies. But its still the only show on the entire Horse Channel worth watching.

If they arent going to show tractors they need to rename the show.

I missed the show, but Years ago I sold an old fire truck to a guy who was going to make a hay hauler out of it. It was an old 59 Maxim ladder truck and was too big to fit in my barn. I doubt that truck was on that episode.
