I have a friend with the gearbox and engine seperated on the above tractor, the clutch has been repaired but he is having problems mating clutch with flywheel. He doesn't have a clutch aligning tool.Does anyone know of a way to do it without the tool,or have a drawing of the tool so that he can have one made. Thanks for any information received.

Ask around the small truck repair shops.....Some of these guys a old damaged splin gear to get the clutch propperly in place..... .back in my younger days on cars i would put the tranny in 2 gears so the spline couldent turn..... .

First of all, what is a 1957 2000? I didn't think they came out with that model until 1962. so make sure your getting the right tool with the right year. aside from that, you can buy one of those plastic ones from an auto parts store and file/grind it down to fit as needed to get it close. good luck, Kent

Maybe between 1957 and 1962 they called them Fordson Dextra. Don't know for sure but seem to remember the 2000 and Dextra in the same IT manual. Tin work was changed and mechanicals too at some point.

I've done it several times useing two deepwell sockets, find the socket that fits the clutch disc and one that fits inside the larger socket.sometimes you need to tape them together .Jim in N M

Take the clutch disk to a autoparts store and they will have one made out of hard plastic for around $5.00. Need to take the disk with you so they can match it up.
