Just a suggestion for this site, taken from the British David Brown site. When trying to buy or sell items, information about wrecking yards or sources for parts etc. please identify where you're from. On the DB site, most responders are reluctant to give advice unless they know your location. In respect to DB, those tractors were sold world wide and slight modifications were made to accomodate the country they were destined to, so an answer to a request from the U.S. could be different than a similar request from Australia as an example.
By following this format, I think you would quickly get much more pertinate info.
I really enjoy this site and am not running it down, just passing along what seems to work real well on another site.

I agree with rustyfarmall. Just have a place for it(location) on the profile when you set it up and folks can just select your name and it would link it to your profile page. I know that would be asking a lot from this website. it seems as though simple is better. I also agree and as such have been using 671DKS ((ford671Diesel)KansaS).
thanks for the forum, Kent S.

If you use the classifieds like your suppose to, and enter all the information then you wont have to worry about it, if youre selling stuff, since youre not suppose to post for sale and want ads on the forums. When inquiring about salvage yards, nost do tell where they are from by sayiong "nay slvage yards near..... .".

I think a location should be in all responses
How many times have you read a question and thought "If I could just go take a look at that problem I know I could help" or "Where can I get such and such? "I've got one in the back of the barn, You
can have it if you come get it.. Oh you are on the other side of the country too bad.

If you use the modern forums, you can set up a profile and then everyone will know exactly where you are from.

Probably depends on the situation- obviously, anyone wanting to sell (or buy) something needs to say where they are, because with this old junk we're dealing with, the cost of shipping can easily exceed the value of the item if you're 3,000 miles away. Questions about repairs ("My gas tank keeps exploding- what could possibly be the matter?") don't really matter where you are in relation to the questioner.

I don't know about you Mike, But I would prefer to be a looooong way from exploding gas tanks and the questioner as well.
