Looking Good Gary. Thats right where we finished up harvesting that day last fall on the corn right across the road from the homestead. Hey load up that plane and fly out here to Washington for our big tractor and steam show next week Wed thru Sat. Lots to see and do and you got a BED HERE AND FREE FOOD! Hope the crops are doing well and hope to maybe get back again this fall to help harvest. See what the next few months can round up for trouble. Migraine

This picture is from the top of the hill overlooking our place and the rest of the valley. Our place is the one that is freshly worked up and taken a couple of years ago. At my age it is getting a little tougher every year to climb to the top. Most all those parcels are about 16 to 20 acres and are considered hobby farms.

Here's a Flash Earth veiw of our farm. Almost all development around us now, but we still manage for now. If you go west about 2 miles and see a field that looks like the flag on your mailbox, we also own that one as well as the 2 blobs of green on either side of that one, and the smaller peice of dirt across the creek form the flag. Gotta go through the orchard that is a grid of trees from the satelite picture.

Overall, it's a pretty clear shot of our place.

Donavan I like how when you zoom out far enough the image is from some time before and it shows a lot less development. Where do people think they are going to get their food from???

Gary, that is a nice looking spread. I like the daughter's house better though. It has a nice shade to sit in. Great pics.

Here's another.

I live in the house on the hill by itself.

One daughter lives in the white house.

Its was a beautiful nite for a ride.

Gary,

Could you send us a few pictures of your barn? The wife and I are thinking of building a house that looks like a barn.

Thanks,

Gary

I was lead to believe that Iowa farms had corn on all sides within 10 feet of the buildings with the livestock and fences long gone. Nice to see a few on the hoof running around down there or are them just hayburners?

Sorry Gary, I can not seem to find the house that you live in, you said "I live in the house on the hill by itself", I am still looking for a 'Hill" in that picture.

LOL I forgot the hills don't show up from a plane.

But believe it or not when I stand on the porch of the house on the right, I am even with the top of the roof on that big barn and it is 45 feet high.

I`ll take a picture tomorrow for you, and show you what a SMALL hill is, and I am in S.E. Indiana. I had figured out which house was yours, but you saying it was on a hill, cracked me up Gary.

Johnson County.

Should have taken a picture to the north.

You can see the Cedar Rapids airport about 12 miles north of my house.

Well, maybe every state but three. No Johnson County in Idaho, Washington, or Oregon.

Gary, Great picture! Love the red buildings with the white roof. Always good to see pictures of that sweet, fertile Iowa landscape. Of course, I"m a bit bias, as I grew up on a 7 generation family farm by Washington IA.

Thanks for the picture.
