Hi Dan;
There is a very strong antique tractor movement in all areas of Britain, lots of local clubs who's members organise lots of shows, working days & plowing matches, and road runs. Most are done to raise money for charity.
Farmers normally buy their tractors on 3 year finance deals, so change regularly to keep up to date and not loose too much money by holding on to them for a long time (they may have income tax advantages for this). The arable farmers today put huge hours onto the their tractors (1000+) per year, so they change regularly. This area of Wales is a poorer farming area and most farmers run older tractors, the contractors who do the large jobs will change their tractors regularly because they must have reliability.
I just photograph whatever I see which I think you guys will enjoy seeing, can post photos of older stuff in the future. Also the effects of the cow manure & the salt sea air take their toll on tractor tinwork!
David
